1. As a child, who was your favorite superhero/heroine? Why?
Wonder Woman. Why? Wonder Bra and Batman was pretty cool.
2. What was one thing you always wanted as a child but never got?
Without question: A drum set. Which I’m still planning on getting – even if I’m 35 before I do.
3. What’s the furthest from home you’ve been?
Vancouver, B.C. about 4500km… I drove.
4. What’s one thing you’ve always wanted to learn but haven’t yet?
Drums. See #2. 🙂
5. What are your plans for the weekend?
Might be playing a game (such as Axis and Allies) with some of my buddies. Getting into the Carlsberg years I guess. Ho-Hum.
Update: got my drums a few years back. Was likely 40 when I got them. 🙂 (Dec. 2013)
“You want to hear the story too don’t you old man… O.K. (continues) She came upon a poisonous snake frozen in the snow. She took the snake home with her. She put the frozen snake on her favorite blanket by the warm fire. She fed it and nursed it back to health. One day she picked the snake up and it bit her on the cheek. As she lay dying she asked the snake, I loved you, why have you done this to
me? The snake answered, “look bitch, you knew I was a snake.”
Ahh yes. For whatever reason I never did see this film when it was released. Nasty but interesting on many levels…
it appears that qmail is functional! Yeah! ‘and there was much rejoicing’.
Almost done painting the upstairs… A few decent positions are available at Brock so… it gives me a ray of hope. They are both temporary but… Better than Ezra.
When we first moved into our Condo (oh a few years ago anyway) naturally we re-painted the living room and hallways. Well, when it dried it was clear it would require a second coat…. then reality hit and time to paint didn’t happen…
I finally repainted the foyer and I’m working on the upstairs… yellow anyone? What was odd about it is: we never took the edge tape off because we kept saying we’d paint next weekend… so for two years every time someone new came over it was ‘so.. you’re painting….’ Yes. Sorta.
Spent some time hanging with my buddy last night… which I do too rarely. Go figure, his Windows 98 died when he installed M$ Office. BLECK…. So I upgraded him to W2K and now all is good. My cat says mmmmeow. I wish she would find another place to sit other than in front of the monitor. Bad kitty!
sometime ago I came across radioparadise which described itself as “eclectic intelligent rock”… yummy I thought. So I tuned in and naturally wanted to contribute to their collection (you can upload tracks…) First on my list of course! would be to improve their pixies collection. So… upload away. Here is the results:
Inspiral Carpets – Real Thing new
Inspiral Carpets – This Is How It Feels new
Inspiral Carpets – She Comes In The Fall new
Inspiral Carpets – Commercial Rain new
Pixies – Gouge Away probably not
Pixies – La La Love You added
Pixies – Monkey Gone to Heaven probably not
Pixies – Here Comes Your Man added
Pixies – Wave of Mutilation probably not
Pixies – Debaser probably not
The Pixies – Letter To Memphis probably not
The Pixies – Planet Of Sound probably not
The Pixies – Motorway To Roswell probably not
The Pixies – Trompe Le Monde probably not
Voivod – Unknown Knows sorry
I tossed the voivod in for shits and giggles… I found it odd that a station claiming to be eclectic would “probably not” play some of the best and most eclectic modern rock every written. How disappointing. I may submit a few more tracks but… if “Here Comes Your Man” and “La La Love You” are considered to be the best pixies songs radioparadise will play then they need to rename themselves to “poppy intelligent rock.” BAH! ACK! I can’t wait to see if they will play the Carpets…Why bother running a web radio station if you are going to play the same tracks as commercial radio???!
I won’t even begin to mention the importance and influence the pixies had on MANY bands they are playing…
It seems to be a bit of a tradition now… I go to my parents and watch the BIG SUPER HYPE…err… SUPER BOWL game. I enjoy football… but I’m not a fan of any particular team in the NFL. I usually just go for the underdog in the Super Bowl. So. Go Bucs.
Wonderful snow storm outside… will make for many drunken accidents after the game. Beware on the roads today!
1. What is one thing you don’t like about your body?
Being nearsighted and having to wear glasses.
2. What are two things you love about your body?
Strong constitution and being a decent height.
3. What are three things you want to change about your home?
Finish painting, re-do kitchen and finish basement.
4. What are four books you want to read this year?
Sadly I couldn’t name four… I’m an awful reader.
5. What are five promises you have kept to yourself?
Hmmm… let me think about this one…
Well… In order to investigate job options further – since my searches suck total ass – I met with a career counselor today. She was nice and tried to help… but didn’t really tell me anything I already didn’t know. She did reinforce the possibility that I’ll have to move in order to find a job in the Web Development, New Media or an Internet field. BAH.
She referred me to another agency… We shall see. It seems I’m simply in the wrong field for this area… I guess I just have to determine how far i’m willing to commute.
Fun fun fun. Laundry, dishes, vacuuming.
I’m also going to try and get a receipt reprinted for my monitor. You see… when I took it to Toronto on the weekend, when I plugged it in to use… blue flames shot out the top of it and clearly something was burning. What a mess. Anyways… hopefully they can re-issue a receipt.
I was finally able to see Jason’s son Avery yesterday evening. Adorable. I usually find new borns to be quite unappealing… but Av is a good looking baby. I wonder who the father really is… (hehe)
