Rangers did a lot of yapping before game one. Sabres let their play on the ice do the talking for them in an impressive opening series 5-2 win. If Sean who? can’t stand up to the Sabres then perhaps sit his ass and let Elisha Cuthbert play instead. At she would be a real distraction.
Finally in my inbox from gamespy a D&D PSP game that might be worth getting, D&D Tactics is coming to game store near you!
Round two of the NHL playoffs start today. The Sabres will be playing the Rangers. I expect a similar series as the Sabres v. NYI. It would be nice to see the Sabres play their A game. Assuming such a thing exists. I’d like to see a better effort from the Sabres in this round. I pick the Sabres in 5. Sean who?
Work is busy. Should be another working weekend. Hopefully the last one for awhile. Our game should go gold on Monday. (I will be surprised is it does… but we’ll see…)
I was unable to get Kubuntu Feisty Fawn 7.04 working. I gave up and formatted it over re-installing Edgy Eft 6.10. I’ll know when I get home if it works.
Earth 2.0 found? Fortunately? It is presently impossible for a human to make it there. One day. It is curious to know there are other planets out there that could sustain human life…
I’ve been running Kubuntu for several months now. The previous release was great and I had no issues with it at all. The ubuntu team has strange little nicknames for each release. The previous release was called Ubuntu 6.10 (Edgy Eft) before that Ubuntu 6.06.1 LTS (Dapper Drake)… the current release is called Ubuntu 7.04 (Feisty Fawn). It is certainly appropriately named. Since I *upgraded* I’ve lost all Internet connectivity with that computer. I can’t surf anywhere. I’ve tried tons of commands and reboots and changes recommended by forums or irc but so far (about three days) my connection is STILL dead. I was hoping this would just be an isolated problem but looking through the ubuntuforum I can see that it clearly isn’t. It is pretty frustrating. Hopefully some uber networking geek in the community will be able to help me out. GAH! FEISTY! FESITY!
B. babysat her nephew all of yesterday so I did a bit of running around to get some errands done. We have our new stove now. Hopefully we will fire it up later today.
Weather is gorgeous! It hit 26! I broke out the shorts and blinded the GTA.
Wow… Spring has certainly arrived! It was beautiful in the GTA today. (compared to Winter still in Edmonton – Hi Sis!) It was so nice that the boss let us cut out early from work today. Originally we were going to grab a beer at a patio… but somehow that idea got derailed and we ended up tossing a frisbee around for a but. After that a bunch of us went to a driving range. Now I haven’t picked up a golf club in quite some time. Probably years. Somehow however, I kept it together. My irons were consistent and fairly straight… my woods well… not so great to start but by the end I belted a few well. I was happy with that showing… I didn’t know what to expect having not played for so long. I’m hoping to get a few rounds in this summer with my Dad.
We had a landscaper meet us this evening for consultation on redoing the ghetto looking front walkway. It has been a major pain in the ass to track down a contractor for a quote. The woman today seemed to be ok with our budget and ‘will get back to us’. We have heard that before. Hopefully she will call, she seemed to have a good idea of what we wanted to accomplish.
Sabres held on in the third to eliminated the Islanders at home at the HSBC tonight! The Sabres now wait for other series to finish to determine who they will meet. It should be either the Devils, Lightning or Rangers. Next….!
Happy 420. 😛
In a somewhat controversial win in Long Island, the Sabres have pulled ahead to a 3-1 series lead going back to Buffalo on Friday. The Sabres will have a shot at closing the series out in game five. Go Sabres!
My Sabres Haiku:
Lord Stanley’s Cup Comes
To Buffalo this season?
Drury hoists it high!
B. arrived home late last night, tired but happy to be home.
Sure is nice outside. Looks like it will be the first full spring-like weekend of the season.
The final pushes to reach the end of our project at work seem to be over. (well before the gold build) Phew. We are looking towards our next project…. we are graduating to a PSP and DS title! I find that very exciting!
B. is away in Vancouver most of this week. Sounds like she is eating well. 😛 I hope she finds some time to look around Vancouver, as I recall it was a great city.
Sabres pulled off a big win on the road last night on Long Island. It was a close game on the score board but the Sabres really controlled play in the 3rd holding the Isles to only two shots. Go Buffalo!
HahahaHAhAHAHAHAHA… my gawd, just when I needed a really good laugh, Mats Sundin steps up to the plate. Thanks Mats I knew I could count on you. Quote from the Toronto Sun : ‘But I will tell you one thing,’ he said emphatically. ‘The Toronto Maple Leafs will win the Stanley Cup while I’m still with the team’. Seriously Mats, maybe focus on *making* the playoffs a few seasons in a row before you spout of nonsense like that. Unbelievable. Haha.
Sabres dropped a game to the Islanders on Saturday. But I’m not worried. They lost by one goal. DiPietro played very well. The Sabres generated a lot of chances. I think it is good to lose a game. It refocuses the players. I never thought the Sabres would sweep the Isles anyway. I expect to see a different club show up Monday. It is disappointing to the panic in some bandwagoners on the SabresFans message forum.
This weekend has been a wash. I worked both Saturday and Sunday. B. and I did manage to get to Sears Sunday to buy a new stove. The old one died. So with the aid of a bunch of Sears points we are getting a flat top GE stove. We should have it by Friday. I’m pretty tired and need a day off. At least I’m building up a lot of lieu time for the summer. That is the only silver lining to all of this OT.
My passport arrived today. It is an interesting document. It looks like it is full of technological copy protection.
Not sure what the fans at HSBC were expecting tonight but it seemed rather quiet in HSBC tonight. -shrug- I thought there was plenty to cheer about. Drury played great. Campbell skated well. Zubrus is slowly becoming a force. What a game he had. I hope they sign him next year! Seemed like a very disciplined, methodical win tonight. Maybe fans were expecting a blow out. I certainly wasn’t. Nevertheless, a great opening win. GO SABRES!
This years Stanley Cup playoffs sport the best Buffalo Sabres’ club ever. They have been picked by poolies and prognosticators to make the finals and maybe… just maybe win it all. As a sports fan the opportunity for your favourite team to win their Championship comes along very, very rarely. (just ask those Leaf fans :P) The Sabres have a shot to win 16 games this post season. I’m hoping the players can focus on the present and tonight’s first game. To look beyond their current opponent could be disastrous. GO SABRES! I’m CUP CRAZY!!!
Ugh. Traffic was backed up on the 410 this morning on my way into work for an hour. When I passed the accident it turned my stomach. I saw a damaged school bus on the grassy median and more emergency vehicles than I have ever seen in one location in my life. It looked apocalyptic. Add the sound of a helicopter overhead and it was clearly the scene of a tragedy of some sort. Details are developing. What an awful start to today. Hopefully it looked worse than it was.
Hmm… seem hard to segue to my playoff excitement after that. Gah. The NHL playoffs start tonight and I’m in a few pools. One with my Dad and a few friends had me drive to St.Catharines last night. It is the annual pool and for the first time I got the first pick. It is a mixed blessing. Sure you get the 1st pick but you don’t pick again for 20 or so picks. Anyway here is who I ended up with:
- Briere – Buffalo
- Connelly – Buffalo
- Paetsch – Buffalo
- Naslund – Vancouver
- Getlaf – Anaheim
- Penner – Anaheim
- Kariya – Nashville
- Timonen – Nashville
- Hartnell – Nashville
- Staal – Pittsburg
- Straka – NYR
- Phaneuf – Calgary
