Gallium is Great!

Gallium OS
Gallium OS

I like Chrome OS. It is simple and straightforward… but I wish it could do more. I tried installing Linux Mint with Crouton a few months back and somehow the install became corrupt and inaccessible. Blah. So I trudged on with Chrome OS again. A few days ago I came across an article about dual booting with some tips from MrChromeBox. Thank you Mr.C! He suggested booting with Gallium OS, a Linux distro designed specifically for *gasp* Chromebooks!
I used the CHRX process – which worked great!
It was a bit of a process – fortunately, I didn’t mess around with any screws on my Lenovo N21 to setup and install the OS. It is amazing! (This is a great review if you want more detail) I now have a fully functioning Linux distro on my Chromebook. It really feels like a new system. It runs great – as well as Chrome OS – but with all the apps and functionality of Linux. The cherry on top – it uses XFCE as the graphical interface. My UX of choice. I did a dual boot but haven’t returned to Chrome OS yet…
